日本に住んでいるため、日本人の日常生活に驚いたところがたくさんあります。
その中の1つは、子供たちが自力で学校に通うことです。

制服を着て、黄色い可愛い帽子をかぶって、カバンを持っています。
放課後、子供たちがしゃべりながら、家に帰ります。
時々、一人で歩いたり、バスに乗ったり、
電車に乗る子供が見られます。
初めて日本に来たときにはとても驚きました。

一方、公共交通機関があまり便利ではない自国では、
子供を一人で学校に通わせることが少ないです。
安全のために、子供をバスで通学させたり、
車で通わせたりする両親も多くいます。

両国の子供を育て方を比較することで、
日本の子供は小さい頃からこのように教えられ育てられているので、
より早く独立するということが分かります。

Living in Japan, there are a lot of surprising lifestyles that can be observed from a foreigner’s perspective.
One of the surprising things is that groups of kids in Japan commute to school on their own.

They are wearing school uniforms and a yellow hat, a school backpack on their back.
After school, group of kids are talking while heading the way home.
Sometimes, individual kids who are walking back home alone on the street, taking a bus,
or riding a train can often be seen as well.
This scene surprised me a lot when I first came to Japan.

On the other hand, in my own country where public transport is not that convenient,
parents who can let their kid go to school on their own are very rare.
In order to have reassurance of kid safety.
They either let their kids commute to school by bus,
some prefer to send their kids to and from the school for a peace of mind.

Having to compare the different ways of raising kids in both countries,
I think children in Japan learn to be independent faster because
they are being taught and raised in this way since they are young.
